Bill Maher: Republicans Are Like Meth Addicts, Always Focused on Imaginary Problems | AlterNet

From Bill Maher via AlterNet:

When you go down the list of useless distractions that make up the Republican party agenda — public unions, Sharia law, anchor babies, the mosque at Ground Zero, ACORN, National Public Radio, the war on Christmas, the new Black Panthers, Planned Parenthood, Michelle Obama’s war on dessert…you realize that the reason nothing gets done in America is that one of the political parties puts so much [energy] into fantasy problems than real ones.

Governing this country with Republicans is like rooming with a Meth addict; you want to address real-life problems, like when the rent is due, and they’re saying, “How can you even think of that stuff when there’s police scanner voices coming out of the air conditioner unit??”

  1. How dare the Republicans considers cutting anything out of our multi trillion dollar “budget” which means we hope to only waste a couple trillion dollars? The citizens that voted out a lot of elected officials in November of 2010, do expect some reductions to be made. But of course every single blessed nickle in the “budget” that was never formally crafted by the Democrats last year can never be cut. Well maybe a nickle. What does your interest in amphetamines have to do with anything?

We need to help the GOP realize there is a difference between talking about “jobs” and taking concrete action to actually create jobs. Talk is cheap. However, it is astounding how much money and time has been wasted by the new Speaker Boehner on issues that will not help anyone improve their lives in this society. Voters need to help Congress focus on what is really important.
