Broadway Memories: Hugh Jackman as Peter Allen In “The Boy From Oz”
One of our great nights in the Theatre, a few seasons ago, was to see Hugh Jackman in “The Boy From Oz” on Broadway. If you only know him as Wolverine, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
This guy is amazing on stage. He totally captured Peter Allen’s style and personae. Peter was a showman and Hugh definitely is one, too.
And he never missed a performance during the entire run of the show.

Jackman was phenomenal — and reminded me that a great performer can mean the difference between seeing a show and experiencing a major event in theater.
Also, the kid who played the young Peter Allen was pretty great, too.

We didn’t get to see it but watch the YouTube videos and bought the soundtrack. I would pay big bucks for a dvd of that show. Jackman is phenomenal. We wait for another musical production starring Jackman with bated breathes….
