Rand Paul “Educates” Black People…And Proves He’s An Ignorant, Elitist, Entitled White Man- Again…..

Rand Paul is truly an idiot….

People just didn’t realize it in time to prevent him from becoming a Senator….

The good news is, the Peter Principle has kicked in:  He has reached- and surpassed- his level of incompetence….

And he’s illustrating it on the national stage….

On Wednesday morning, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) gave an address at the historically-black Howard University designed to convince black voters to support Republicans. While some of his remarks, most notably on harsh drug laws and other civil liberties issues, were well-received, the majority of the speech consisted in Paul condescendingly explaining American racial history to the audience, occasionally incorrectly, and expecting that it would open black voters’ eyes to the real Republican Party. Here are five moments that encapsulated the general problem with Paul’s speech:

Fight the Good Fight: A Message from Robert Reich

Great message today on Facebook from former Labor Secretary and all around brilliant man Robert Reich…

Sometimes politics and politicians just seem too ridiculous to take seriously.  That’s one of the reasons I slowed down on blogging for a few months.  I had to take a break from the foolishness.

But I realized we all have to stay engaged and stay in the game.  The Conservatives, the Rich, the 1% , the crazy Evangelical fringe, the haters, the Gun Nuts and the neanderthal’s certainly will.  They aren’t going away- well, at least until they die out….

With the Supreme Court on the verge of throwing out section 5 of the Voting Rights Act, the Republicans are going to do even more to gerrymander their way into keeping power and finding ways to suppress the vote.

I hope all my Progressive friends and readers will read this message from Secretary Reich and keep it in mind:

In light of the standoff in Washington — and the continuing dysfunction in our nation’s capital — many of you are angry and frustrated. Some of you say you’ve had it with politics. Others feel powerless and hopeless. A number blame both parties, seeing Democrats as no different from Republicans.

All these reactions are exactly what the regressives want. This is the heart of their strategy. They want you to see all of politics and all politicians as crooks and con-artists, fools or knaves. They want you to give up. That way, they can have it all. They can turn the clock back on America. They can shred every safety net, eviscerate every regulation, prevent any investment in the health and education of future generations. They can hammer the poor and middle class with lower wages, fewer jobs, and less security, and create a plutocracy of the privileged and powerful. Get it? They want you out of the way so they have America to themselves. The showdowns and standoffs and gridlock in Washington are part of their plot.

We must not let them. The progressive forces in this country are stronger than the regressive ones, but only if we are united and determined. Don’t stop making a ruckus. Don’t stop writing and calling your representatives. Don’t stop mobilizing others, and organizing at the grass roots. 2014 will be a key election year. We must take our democracy back.

Hillary Clinton Hits Record Favorability, Poll Shows Wide Support For 2016 Candidacy

Run, Hillary, Run!

This would be so very wonderful…..

And I’m glad to see she is finally get the respect and appreciation she deserves….

From the

A decision by Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016 would be welcomed by most Americans, according to a Washington Post/ABC poll released Wednesday.

As she prepares to step down as secretary of state, Clinton has a lifetime high favorability rating of 66 percent, according to the Post/ABC poll, with less than a third of respondents holding unfavorable views. Two-thirds of Americans approve of her job performance in the Obama administration.

That goodwill translates into broad support for Clinton to make a second run at the presidency in four years, with 57 percent supporting her candidacy.

The demographics of her support provide a sense of what could be a key constituency for a Clinton campaign: women, especially those who are younger or middle-aged. Two-thirds of women, including 75 percent of those under age 50, say they would like to see her run. Among men, her candidacy is supported by a narrower 49 percent

Fran Lebowitz, Frank Rich At Town Hall: Pair Debate State Of The Union

These are two of my favorite political and social commentators….

I agree with about 99% of what they say….

I would love to see them together some time.

Here is a brief excerpt from a Huffington Post article on them:

Lebowitz, in particular, wants to caution her political allies — and her candidate — that sitting back and waiting for people to realize that you’re right and your opponent is wrong doesn’t work in the era of Kim Kardashian and Honey Boo Boo. “Obama [is] living in a world where I have chosen to live in, where a raised eyebrow has an effect — which is not the United States,” she told The Huffington Post.

She went on to refer to the Republican party as a “confederacy” and eviscerate Romney’s argument that his success as a C.E.O. proves that he can run the country. “[A business] has one goal: to make a profit,” she said. “Even three-year-olds have more complicated goals than that.”

Lindsay Lohan: Mitt Romney Supporter

If you need any further evidence that it’s insane to support Romney, this is it….

Poor, Lindsay….so lost in so many ways.

From the Huffington Post:

Lindsay Lohan has joined the likes of Stacey Dash and Hulk Hogan by telling the press she’s voting for Mitt Romney.

Appearing at a promotional event, the “Liz & Dick” star said her decision came down to one issue: unemployment.

“I just think employment is really important right now,” she said. “So, as of now, Mitt Romney. As of now.”

“It’s a long story,” she added, according to E! News.

The Real Paul Ryan Is Bad for America

Well, I called it correctly yesterday:  Joe Biden destroyed the well packaged, but vacuous stuffed suit that was Paul Ryan last night.  People finally started to see the real Paul Ryan- shallow, callow and not ready for prime time.

Finally, someone has called Paul Ryan to task and tried to make him answer for his glib, destructive positions with real facts and force him to step out from behind the smoke and mirrors that the GOP uses to disguise the very bad impacts of their very bad ideas.

And most of these very bad ideas come directly from Paul Ryan-with an assist from Ayn Rand.

Joe Biden really took him to task like the differential DC media always fails to do…

My favorite comment came from Bill  Maher:

“9-1-1 ?  There is an old man beating a child on my TV.”

Now, I’m sure the Conservatives will start blaming Martha Raddatz, the moderator, and everyone else in the media like they normally do when someone doesn’t let them get away with their tricks and lies…

There is a great piece from Charles Pierce at this morning everyone should read.  Here is a brief excerpt and a link to the full article:

For years, Paul Ryan has been the shining champion of some really terrible ideas, and of a dystopian vision of the political commonwealth in which the poor starve and the elderly die ghastly, impoverished deaths, while all the essential elements of a permanent American oligarchy were put in place. This has garnered him loving notices from a lot of people who should have known better. The ideas he could explain were bad enough, but the profound ignorance he displayed on Thursday night on a number of important questions, including when and where the United States might wind up going to war next, and his blithe dismissal of any demand that he be specific about where he and his running mate are planning to take the country generally, was so positively terrifying that it calls into question Romney’s judgment for putting this unqualified greenhorn on the ticket at all. Joe Biden laughed at him? Of course, he did. The only other option was to hand him a participation ribbon and take him to Burger King for lunch.

You know what’s the difference between Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan?
